It is commencement time again at UVU. Internship Services would like to say Congratulations to the Spring 2011 UVU Grads! We have enjoyed helping you and hope that your internships serve you well ipn your future schooling and careers!

Last Minute!

Some of the Fall DC Internship deadlines are tomorrow, Friday April 15th! If you would like to complete an internship with Congressman Chaffetz or Senator Hatch you need to submit the following:
-Resume
-Cover letter
-Short writing sample
-2 letters of recommendation
-College transcript

Turn in application materials in LC 409 by Friday! Call 801-863-6308 with questions.

...Identify new skills and interests.

As we end our internship countdown, something to consider is the personal benefits of an internship. Many students feel slightly intimidated when applying for jobs after graduation. Mostly because they have never worked in their field before. When you complete an internship you not only receive an experience to put on your resume, but you also gain confidence in skills that you will use in the workplace. Some examples of skills you can gain while on your internship are:
-Interpersonal communication
-Professionalism
-Report writing
-Skills specific to your career field

Identifying new interests is also a main benefit of completing an internship. Some students even decide to change their major after completing an internship!
