Last Minute!
Some of the Fall DC Internship deadlines are tomorrow, Friday April 15th! If you would like to complete an internship with Congressman Chaffetz or Senator Hatch you need to submit the following:
-Resume
-Cover letter
-Short writing sample
-2 letters of recommendation
-College transcript

Reason to intern #1...
...Identify new skills and interests.
As we end our internship countdown, something to consider is the personal benefits of an internship. Many students feel slightly intimidated when applying for jobs after graduation. Mostly because they have never worked in their field before. When you complete an internship you not only receive an experience to put on your resume, but you also gain confidence in skills that you will use in the workplace. Some examples of skills you can gain while on your internship are:
-Interpersonal communication
-Professionalism
-Report writing
-Skills specific to your career field

As an intern you get to work alongside a professional in the field. You get to see what "real employees" do. This can be very helpful in determining if want to continue your education in that field or change to something else.
