Student Testimonial

Here's Nate Bagley's story:
A little over a year ago I received an internship at OrangeSoda, a local Utah internet marketing firm. I was fortunate to have the opportunity to work with both the “Pay Per Click” and “Search Engine Optimization” marketing strategies. I helped to manage clients and perform tasks to make sure that their internet marketing campaigns were both profitable and on schedule. Eventually, I was hired on as an employee and invited to pursue my passion in social media. I was given the job of Social Media Coordinator, and was paid to run the OrangeSoda Twitter account, as well as help form the future social media strategies of the company.

Because of this internship, I have found my passion in life and am currently starting my own consulting business to put me through the rest of school. I have made connections with some of the most renowned leaders and experts in my field and have been offered jobs and internships in many major cities, including Seattle, Toronto, and New York City.

My internship opened doors to attend conferences, such as Blog World Conference in Las Vegas, and network with incredible people. I was also awarded the "Best Use Of Twitter Award" because of my creativity and ingenuity on Twitter as a college student to network and create opportunities for myself, at the first ever Utah Social Media Awards.

Without my internship, I would never have been able to enjoy the success and opportunities I've had thus far in my life.

Student Testimonial

Many UVU students have wonderful experiences on their internships. We love when students share them with us!

Here's Mike Balser's Story:

As a Political Science student at UVU I was made aware of the different internship opportunities in Washington, DC. I jumped at the opportunity to spend a semester in Washington. I went through the application process and was offered an internship with Senator Robert Bennett in his DC office. My experience here in Washington has been incredible. In Washington, I have learned about American government and politics in a way that the campus classroom could not effectively teach. I am able to do things and see things that I have only read about in books and studied in class. This firsthand experience has been the best teacher and a priceless experience. I have the goal to run for public office sometime in my future. Being in DC has opened my eyes to the life of an elected official. It has given me insight and information that will help me to make future decisions. I feel fortunate to have the chance to spend the Semester in Washington, DC. The things I am learning will benefit the rest of my life.
